Here’s How Much It Is To Stay In The Home Alone 2 Hotel A Night

It’s that time of year again when we’re watching Christmas classics – and we have many, many questions. How did Kevin’s family afford that mansion in Home Alone, and can we pls stay in the hotel in the second movie and order a year’s supply of pizza too?!

Well, turns out, you in fact can stay in the hotel for a night or two – as long as you have a casual €25,000 to spare.

Yep, the Plaza hotel shown in the second Home Alone movie costs a hefty $30,000 to stay a night, which is just under €25,000.

If you’re a big fan of the Home Alone saga, then we highly recommend tuning into Channel 4’s latest documentary on the massive hotel, Christmas in New York: Inside the Plaza, which you can catch now on All4. In the documentary, the price of each room is looked at, along with some juicy info on the making of the second movie.

Spilling some beans on that infamous Donald Trump scene, the movie’s director Chris Columbus hinted at Donald Trump ‘bullying’ his way into the film. Speaking about Trump’s appearance in the movie, Chris told Insider: 

“Trump said okay (to using the hotel). We paid the fee, but he also said, ‘The only way you can use the Plaza is if I’m in the movie.”

“So we agreed to put him in the movie, and when we screened it for the first time, the oddest thing happened: People cheered when Trump showed up onscreen. So I said to my editor, ‘Leave him in the movie. It’s a moment for the audience.’ But he did bully his way into the movie.”

Well, anyway, has anyone got a spare €25,000 we could borrow?
