While there are many reasons for the brand’s massive success last year, many cite SKIMS partnership with Team USA during the 2021 Tokyo Olympic as a key factor to the brand’s boost.

Kim launched SKIMS in 2019 as a shapewear brand, but they have since expanded into loungewear and even launched a kids collection. The brand is particularly close to Kim’s heart as she has used shapewear for years.
Telling People Magazine, “I use shapewear as a solution to my styling needs. I always wanted something that would smooth, and sometimes not necessarily change my shape. When I wear sheer garments, I used my shapewear to line things like jumpsuits and gowns.”
