Here’s The Start Date For Winter Love Island
So soon!
Just in time to cut off our social lives for the month of Jan, Winter Love Island is on its way!
We finally have a start date for the new series, the first series hosted by Maya Jama and it’s Monday January 16th.
That is so soon! What a perfect pick me up in the middle of January thank you Love Island.
The show’s official Instagram page posted a video asking you to pause when a shape meets the mechanical bull (yes, mechanical bull), and when it does you can see the date of the show’s premiere above it.

This is the second time we’ll be getting a winter season and it’s coming with a lot of changes this time round…
Firstly there’s a new host, Maya Jama will be stepping into Laura Whitmore, and the late Caroline Flack’s shoes as she becomes the third host of Love Island UK.
Maya confirmed the news a few months back, saying that she was excited to take on the role, “I’ve always been such a massive Love Island fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the nation’s favourite shows! I can’t wait to get into the villa to meet all of the islanders.”

Next, the social media aspect, contrary to the usual rules around social media and posting, none of the friends and families of this year’s islanders will be permitted to post on contestants’ social media throughout the duration of the show.
Islanders are this year being asked to pause their Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts while in the villa as part of the show’s new updated duty of care. This shift aims to protect friends and family from trolling or abusive content while the show is airing, while also ensuring that islanders are not exposed to it immediately after leaving the villa.
Catch the new series on our screens from the 16th of January!
