… A summer meal

The summer months are almost upon us – and honestly, if the weather the past few weeks is anything to go by, we’re in for a scorcher.

And what better way to celebrate than with a gorgeous meal in a gorgeous restaurant?

This month, Team STELLAR went to a stunning Food Affair in Osteria Lucia to celebrate SuperValu’s Specially Sourced Collection.

We tried some freshly baked bread, we tried some incredible cheese (there was a pistachio cheese that may very well have changed my life) and indulged in an amazing five course meal crafted by Gareth Mullins and Sarah Butler.

I went for the vegetarian menu, and it was second to none: asparagus risotto, vine tomatoes and mozzarella, ravioli, panacotta, and a delicious cheese board to finish.

It’s safe to say, I was stuffed.

I’ve never been to the ballet, I am almost ashamed to admit.

I didn’t think it would be my thing, and feared I wouldn’t follow it, but I went to see Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre this week, and guys, it was genuinely breathtaking.

Bourne’s Swan Lake has been running for over 30 years, and is credited with being the ‘first gay’ Swan Lake, as well as encouraging an entire generation of male ballet dancers in the UK, and beyond.

The performances are heartbreaking, the music is sensational, and the dancing is, of course, unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.

I was enthralled for its two and a half hour runtime. I could’ve watched those Swans all night.

… A handy canned cocktail

It’s officially rum and coke weather, don’t you know.

And lucky for us, because BACARDÍ & Coca-Cola have just launched a new canned cocktail – just in time for summer!

To celebrate, they’re hosting a special event called Havana Nights, a vibrant mini-festival celebrating the launch of the new ready-to-drink cocktail, which is available in all retailers nationwide.

The event takes place in Dublin’s Urban Plant Life on Thursday, May 22nd (this week!). There’s still tickets left, and you can grab yourself one here. 

There’ll be live music, tasty bites, and of course, some delicious ready-to-drink cocktails. Yum!
