Here’s What Team STELLAR Is Loving This Week
Happy Friday!
It’s the weekend, and we’re officially a whole week into August.
We’ve been busy enjoying lots of things this week – from food to drinks to… food again. Here they are.
… Cork on a Fork
If you’re eager to do something a little different this summer, why not take yourself down to Cork and enjoy the city’s very own food festival?
Cork on a Fork is returning to the real capital from August 13-17, with almost 100 activities and experiences taking place all around the city, showcasing food that nourishes, excites, and of course, delights.
There’s community garden feasts, foraging events, cooking demos, workshops, and group dining experiences. Something for everyone, truly.
Find out more here, and book yourself an event now.
… A new opening
There’s a new opening in town – and it’s got some serious culinary delights.
Fitzers Bar & Bistro, located in the former home of The Green Hen on Exchequer Street, honours over 75 years of family legacy and Irish food culture – and they’ve recently opened their doors for the first time!
Dishes of interest include Castletownbere Crab Au Gratin, Whipped Dublin Hills Goats’ Cheese Crostini, White and Dark Chocolate Mousse, and so much more.
Catch us there, honestly.
… New foundation

Summer is all about getting a good glow – we’re talking a pop of highlighter, a liquid blush, and a super dewy foundation.
But what about the girls who want a bit more coverage? What about those of us who are up for a little more matte?
Benefit’s new POREfessional Foundation is a smoothing and blurring medium coverage product that glides onto the skin, leaving a gorgeous, weightless finish.
It’s perfect for the warmer months as it blurs imperfections, without that heavy, cakey feel of a fully coverage foundation.
It also doesn’t budge from your face when you set it – amazing!
… A gorge new menu
@vipmagaz Old Fashioned Sam’s have just launched a new food menu – blending a fine dining vibe with the freedom of sharing plates ✨ Team VIP went down for a taste this week and it was only gorge #fyp #invite ♬ tower of memories – ivri
This week Team STELLAR was invited down to Old Fashioned Sam’s to try their new dinner menu – and it was only divine.
Laura’s restaurant is situated above the venue’s stunning courtyard, boasting a sleek interior, delicious cocktails, and of course, a delectable new tasting menu.
We’re talking surf and turf, whipped brie, prawn pil pil, mussels, crispy cheesy wontons, and maybe the nicest slice of banana bread I’ve ever eaten.
After your dinner at Laura’s why not head downstairs to their speakeasy cocktail bar for a tipple or two, before heading back upstairs to the Courtyard, where there’s live DJs every weekend.
Honesty, they’ve got it all.
… Lovely vino
There are few things better than a cool, crisp glass of wine on the weekend.
A sauv blanc, a nice red, a delicious rosé that’s pale in colour, fruity to taste, and seriously good value.
Lidl’s own Breath of Paradise is a dupe for another fairly well known rosé (two guesses as to which one). It’s just as delicious, less than half the price, and boasts that gorgeous, pale blush we all associate with a seriously good glass of wine.
“At excellent value, Lidl’s Breath of Paradise is a summer game changer,” says Master of Wine Richard Bampfield.
“Like any luxurious dry rosé alternative, it’s made primarily with Grenache grapes grown in Provence, giving it that iconic rosé hue and the classic Provençal aroma of fresh peach and wild herbs that we know and love.”
New fav rosé, anyone?
… A Strawberry Saddle
Horse season is here, if you didn’t know – and one place leaning into some equestrian delights is The Ivy Dublin.
They’re celebrating the season with a beautiful new cocktail, the Strawberry Saddle – a delicious mix of Crème de Fraise, rose syrup, and chilled Prosecco, adorned with raspberry dust.
They’ve also got a whole new summer menu that’s seriously good value, starting at two courses for €38.95. Dishes include Heirloom Tomato and Watermelon Salad, John Stone Steak, Egg and French Fries, and Crab Risotto.
There’s also a honey and white chocolate cheesecake that comes with a little chocolate bee on top. Adorable.
