The BBC has confirmed when their brand new Britney Spears documentary is set to land – and it’s sooner than you might think.

It follows the gripping New York Times documentary ‘Framing Britney Spears’ which showcased her life from a child star to the present day. Touching briefly on Britney’s conservatorship battle with her family, the new BBC documentary is set to focus entirely on her recent legal struggle.

The documentary titled ‘The Battle for Britney: Fans, Cash and a Conservatorship’ will land on the BBC iPlayer this Saturday, and later air on BBC Two on May 5th at 9pm.

Journalist Mobeen Azhar will front the documentary, traveling from Britney’s hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana to LA where he will chat with fans who are behind the #FreeBritney movement, alleging that the singer is being kept prisoner against her own will.

Speaking recently about the documentary and his involvement in it, he said:

“I went to LA in search of the truth of how Britney Spears, one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, ended up in a conservatorship”

“I found myself in a world of lawyers, superfans, and paparazzi and spent time with many of the people who’ve had a front row seat in Britney’s life”

Will you be tuning in?
