Here’s Why Maura Higgins Pulled Out Of The British Fashion Awards Last Minute

The 2022 British Fashion Awards seemed right up Maura Higgins alley until it was revealed that she had to pull out last minute.

Wondering why? Well, now we know!

The former Love Islander was set to make an appearance on the red carpet at the star-studded event which took place last night in London’s Albert Hall.

Maura even took to Instagram earlier that evening to share her excitement for the awards with the caption: “BFA tonight…first time to have zero control on my outfit… excited to see what @scott_henshall has designed for me.”

However, it didn’t take fans long to notice that Maura never showed up.

After receiving messages from concerned followers on why she didn’t attend, Maura later explained her reasoning for pulling out last minute.

“So guys, everyone’s messaging me: ‘Where are you? Where’s the red carpet pictures?’ I’ve had a bit of a nightmare,” she explained on her Instagram story.

“So as you can see, I’m fully ready. Glam team are on point as usual. Basically the dress, shoes, everything just wasn’t something that I’d probably wear… I just feel it’s not very appropriate for the Fashion Awards.”

Adding: “Obviously, I do like to go daring, ye guys know that. But I just feel, I don’t know, I feel like it’s not right.”

“So I’ve decided not to go. I’m still in the hotel as you can see.”

Maura admitted that although she likes to be bold with her style, she felt on this particular occasion that it just wasn’t going to work.
