“I Was Feeling Pretty Broken” Angelia Jolie Has Opened Up About Her Divorce From Brad Pitt During The Filming Of ‘Maleficent’
She admits taking on her first acting role in four years was tough for her
It has been just about three years since the biggest tabloid headline of the century hit us: ‘Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are filing for divorce’.
Keeping fairly quiet about their split, Angelina is now recalling the upsetting time for her, speaking about how she handled the situation while also attempting to carry on with her life and career.
Speaking with People magazine, Angelia said:
‘It was a tough time. I’d been coming off a few years of difficulty, and I was not feeling very strong.’
Brad and Angelina split back in 2016, after 12 years as a couple. While solid evidence surrounding their divorce never really presented itself, the two cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as their reasoning, with many concluding that the two failed to see eye to eye in parenting their children.
Angelina has reprised her role as the evil fairy godmother in hit blockbuster Maleficent, and she also went on to speak about how she felt during its time of filming, marking it as her first acting role since her divorce.
“In fact, I was feeling pretty broken. It took me a moment to feel the strength of (Maleficent) again.”
Angelina also revealed that it is unlikely that any of her six children will be following in their parent’s acting footsteps.
She said that none of her kids wanted to appear on screen while filming Maleficent, as some of them did the last time around, but instead, are dedicating themselves to more serious matters.
She said: “None of my kids want to be actors. They’re into business, humanitarian affairs, things like that. Nobody was interested!”
