‘I Was Just Gutted’: Jenna Dewan Opens Up About Her Divorce From Channing Tatum In Her New Book

Jenna has added author to her list of accomplishments.

It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were all devastated by the break up of Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan. The couple met on the set of the first Step Up film way back when in 2006 (who can even believe Step Up was 13 years ago!?) and flourished into that picture perfect couple.

So it came as a bit of a shock to us all when they announced their divorce in 2018, explaining that they “lovingly chosen to separate as a couple”. Now, Jenna has branched out into new territory and has released her first book.

Writing in her book Gracefully You: How To Live Your Best Life Every Day, Jenna has opened up about her divorce with Channing Tatum, and got very candid indeed.

“People grow and they change and sometimes they don’t grow and change together,” she explains. “So it wasn’t a overnight thing that happened. There was no one event. I think it was just a slow realisation that we wanted different things.”

Jenna continues to open up about her feelings around the divorce in the book, “I was just gutted. It was so difficult for me. It was the loss of an idealistic future for myself and my life. What does that now look like for me? Where do I begin? I met him when I was 24, I didn’t know life without Chan.”

Having recently announced that she’s expecting a child with new boyfriend, Steve Kazee, she talked about how co-parenting their six year old daughter with Channing was going.

“We’re all aware that it’s a new normal, we’re all getting used to it. You can still have a relationship and just because the forms change as to who you are to each other, it doesn’t take away from the love that we had or that we shared all those years.”

The hardcover, coffee-table style book will be released this month.
