‘I Wish Her Nothing But Happiness’: Liam Hemsworth Has Addressed His Split From Miley Cyrus

The actor has been hanging with his brother Chris in their native Australia.

Liam Hemsworth has spoken out about his split from wife Miley Cyrus, saying he wishes her ‘health and happiness’.

The news broke on Sunday that the couple had decided to separate after six months of marriage – they have been together on and off since 2009, when they first met on the set of The Last Song.

Liam has been spending time with his brother Chris in his native Australia, and last night, posted a short statement along with a picture of a sunset.

“Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” he wrote.

This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and love.

It’s believed he is referring to reports that he told the Daily Mail Australia, “You don’t understand what it’s like. I don’t want to talk about it” when approached by paparazzi earlier this week.

Hours after news of the split broke, photos emerged of Miley kissing Kaitlynn Carter, the recent ex of The Hills star Brody Jenner.

The singer seemed to respond to the news on Monday with an Instagram post about change being ‘inevitable’ and how she would be respecting her own ‘process’ during this time.

Her post echoed the words of the statement the couple’s rep provided to the press on Sunday, which read:

Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.
