Inside The Charmed Drama That Allegedly Got Shannen Doherty Fired
Oooft.
Oh dear – it sounds like the Charmed cast weren’t always charmed by one another!
Holly Marie Combs has claimed that the reason Shannen Doherty got fired was as a result of co-star Alyssa Milano.
Holly, Shannen and Alyssa played witchy sisters Piper, Prue and Phoebe on the WB series – but Prue was replaced for the fourth season by Rose McGowan, who was introduced as the sister’s cousin, Paige.

While chatting on Shannen’s Let Be Clear podcast, Holly explained how in the early 2000s, producers pulled her in to discuss the reason they had to let Shannen go.
According to Holly, producers were forced into the decision after being given an ultimatum by Alyssa.
“He said, ‘We didn’t mean to—but we’ve been backed into this corner—we’re basically in this position where it’s one or the other.”

Holly continued to share that producers said to her, “We were told [by Alyssa] it’s her or [Shannen] and Alyssa has threatened to sue us for a hostile workplace environment.'”
Yikes! That’s awkward.
Shannen and Holly discussed how neither of them remembered any “brawls” or “harsh words” between Shannen and Alyssa – they were both surprised by the revelation that Alyssa wanted Shannen gone.

“I lived a year after that sort of replaying everything in my brain and really trying to find those moments,” Shannen confessed. “I don’t ever remember being mean to her on set.”
“I remember an episode I directed where she did something on the Christmas break,” Shannen continued, “and they asked me to work around some things with her and I had no problem with it. I couldn’t have been more kind and understanding.”
The actress then explained that while she’s moved on, she can’t forgive Alyssa for what occurred between them.

“As you get older, you accept that a situation happened. Acceptance and moving on with your life does not equate to forgiveness,” she shared.
“You just learn a lesson and look at somebody differently and move on.”
Alyssa has yet to comment on the claims.
