Insta Creep: Moby Has Insisted That He Did Date Natalie Portman, Despite Her Calling Him ‘Creepy’…

What all the celebs are up to on social, from A to Z listers.

In our gossip column, we indulge our nosiest desires and delve deep into what the celebs (and ‘celebs’) are doing on social media. Who’s tweeting and deleting? Who’s shady faving? Let’s find out.

James Charles is defending his decision to post during his ‘social media break’.

The YouTuber told fans in his last video addressing the Tati drama that he’d be taking some time away from his channel and social media, saying he needed to regain his focus.

“I pledge to myself that I’m going to try and power down as much as I can. I’m sure I’ll be checking here and there of course but I really do want to focus more on in-person time and the people around me that are loving and caring,” he said.

But you’re hardly going to stop posting when you’ve been invited to Kylie Jenner’s skincare launch, are you now?

People were immediately like ARE YOU OR ARE YOU NOT HAVING A ‘SOCIAL MEDIA BREAK’, to which JC replied:

“Posting a few stories of me smiling doesn’t mean I’m ‘better’ or my break was for sympathy. It means I’m trying to move on with my life and better myself,” he tweeted.

We can’t help but feel like an actual break, with no posting, would do him the world of good after all this. But that’s none of our business…

So Moby has decided to double down on his claims that he and Natalie Portman dated, despite the fact that Natalie remembers it very differently

Responding to claims the musician made about their relationship in his new memoir, the actress said not only did they not date, she was actually still a teenager when she met him (the memoir has her as 20).

I’m surprised to hear that he characterised the very short time that I knew him as dating because my recollection is a much older man being creepy with me when I just had graduated high school.

Moby is not pleased at all about this, posting a photo of the pair of them together and saying he was “confused” by Natalie’s statement.

After briefly dating in 1999 we remained friends for years. I like Natalie and I respect her intelligence and activism. But to be honest, I can’t figure out why she would actively misrepresent the truth about our (albeit brief) involvement.

“I completely respect Natalie’s possible regret in dating me (to be fair, I would probably regret dating me, too) but it doesn’t alter the actual facts of our brief romantic history,” he said.

This isn’t a good look, Mobes. The post confirms that he was wrong about her age – Natalie was indeed 18 in 1999 – so whatever way you shake it, he was a 33 year old man going after a teenager. And he’s now the laughing stock of the internet, so he should probably stop talking.

Margot Robbie paid a subtle but lovely tribute to the late Sharon Tate while promoting Once Upon A Time In Hollywood at Cannes.

Margot plays the actress and 60s style icon in Quentin Tarantino’s new film, which dramatises the rise and crimes of Charles Manson’s Family.

For an event promoting the movie, the Australian actress wore her hair in tiny plaits framing her face:

Fans found photos of Tate wearing her hair in a similar style in 1968, the year before she was murdered by followers of Manson.

Props to her hair and makeup people for knowing their stuff.

And now it’s time for… #WilloughbyWatch

Charting the public’s obsession with what Holly Willoughby is wearing.

Ooh a floaty little number for Hol today, courtesy of Kate Spade. We can tell you even without looking at the price that it’s gonna cost a pretty penny (and if you’re interested, it’s on sale for €374).

“Nope it looks like a Battenberg cake,” writes a commenter, one of the many to chime in with the same sentiment. Nowt wrong with a bit of Battenberg. Just maybe not on your bod?
