FKA Twigs has revealed that she was subject to a lot of racial abuse during her three year relationship with Robert Pattinson.

Speaking to Louis Theroux on his podcast Grounded, FKA explained that she received ‘hurtful and ignorant’ comments throughout her time with the Twilight star, explaining that fans wanted their “white Prince Charming” to be with a white, blonde girl.

Adding that the trolls came after her specifically over her appearance, FKA added:

“It’s essentially bullying and it does affect you psychologically. People just called me the most hurtful and ignorant and horrible names on the planet.”

Adding that she doesn’t regret her relationship, FKA noted that she’s not defined by it either and has since grown from it.

“I’m not trying to deny my history, I just think it’s important that I’m not defined by it, because he doesn’t have to be defined by it.”

FKA has also been dealing with a lawsuit against ex Shia LaBeouf for sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress. The pair were briefly together in 2019.

Shia has since made it very public that he is ashamed of his past actions and in “no place to tell anyone how my behaviour made them feel.” Continuing, he added “I have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalisations,” while speaking with the New York Times.
