People Think Demi Lovato Just Shaded Ariana Grande’s Manchester Benefit Concert On Instagram

But it sounds like it's just one big misunderstanding.

Since the details and list of performers for Ariana Grande’s benefit concert were revealed yesterday afternoon, fans have been questioning why the star’s BFF Demi Lovato wasn’t included on the list.

Ariana organised the gig for the victims of last Monday’s Manchester attack to raise much needed funds for them and their families, and she called on celebrity friends in the music industry, including Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and Pharrell Williams, to help her out.

But Demi’s name was nowhere to be seen, which fans thought was weird considering how close they are.

So the Heart Attack singer responded with a very brief comment on Instagram saying, “Cause I wasn’t asked”.

Fans were surprised by the short (and not-so-sweet message) but Demi later explained exactly why she said it, and she has a valid reason.

She said, “The only reason why I answered is so people understand that I didn’t turn it down. I’d hate for anyone to think that I said no. I would’ve loved to help but I wasn’t asked, that’s all.”

There’s still time for Demi to get involved though, as the announced list of performers ends with “and others.”

The special One Love Manchester concert will take place on Sunday 4 June at the Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, and it will be broadcast live by the BBC.
