It Turns Out Daniel Kaluuya Wasn’t Invited To The ‘Get Out’ Premiere

You would think he'd be a pretty important person on the guest list...

In a surprising turn of events, Daniel Kaluuya has revealed that he wasn’t invited to the premiere of the 2017 film ‘Get Out’. Despite, you know, playing the starring role and receiving a whopping 26 award nominations for his performance. You would think he was a vital person on the guest list?

During an interview with Graham Norton, Daniel revealed that he was originally meant to be away filming Black Panther when Get Out was premiering at Sundance, he cleared his schedule so he could attend, but the invite never came.

“On the Sundance world premiere, I was in Atlanta because I was shooting [Black] Panther. I was chilling, I cleared my schedule. I was like, ‘I really wanna do it,’ and then just didn’t get the invite.

“I wasn’t invited, so I was just in my bed, someone texted me, ‘It’s done really well,” he then added, laughing, “That’s the industry, Graham!”

When asked if he spoke with anyone about not being invited, he explained “I don’t ask questions, you don’t want to be in a place that you don’t feel wanted.”

Daniel received 26 award nominations for the film, including at the Oscar’s and Golden Globes for his role. If you haven’t gotten around to watching it just yet, add it to your list of things to do this weekend.
