“It’s Cheap!” Bette Midler Slams Hocus Pocus Remake And Says She WON’T Be Taking Part

She didn't hold back.

Raise your hand if you spent your Halloween rewatching Hocus Pocus… Yeah, us too. The timeless classic gets funnier every time we see it and let’s be honest, Max is an absolute babe.

But did you know there’s going to be a remake? The new movie is being made for TV by the Disney Channel and is currently being written by Scarlett Lacey, who also worked on The Royals and Save The Last Dance.

David Kirschner, who produced the 1993 version of the flick, has already signed up for the new project – but not everyone is as keen. Bette Midler has confirmed that she will not be taking part… and she didn’t hold back when explaining why.

Speaking to People at the New York Restoration Project’s Hulaween party, she said, “I know it’s cheap. It’s going to be cheap!”

She added, “I’m not sure what they’re going to do with my character. My character is very, very broad and I don’t know who they’re going to find to play that.” Whoever they pick has some major boots to fill, that’s for sure.

Are you looking forward to the Hocus Pocus remake, or nah?
