“I could listen to Maura Higgins say things like Doll Cha and Gab Anna all day,” wrote one happy viewer on Thursday night as Glow Up Ireland aired on telly for the first time.
Over the next few weeks the series is set to follow 10 of Ireland’s best amateur make-up artists as their challenged with a range of assignments that showcase their skills and artistry, as well as push them to their limits in a hope to become Ireland’s Next Make-Up Star.
With industry legends Cathyanne Mac Allister and Emma O’Byrne judging the competition, fans were well and truly impressed with Maura’s first presenting gig, with her days in front of the camera on Love Island and Dancing on Ice certainly paying off.

Pretty well versed on the format of competition shows at this stage, fans praised Maura for ‘representing rural Irish women’ while others admitted it was a ‘blessing’ to have her back on the screen.

Maura also chatted about her own excitement to present the show, writing:
“Tonight is the night!!!! My presenting debut hits the screens and I am so excited!! I can not wait for you all to see the incredible talent Ireland has to offer.
“(So proud!!) Thank you to everyone involved, For making this happen & believing in me.”
Wearing a divine dress from The Attico, as well as super high YSL patent boots, Maura looked every inch the superstar host and we cannot wait to see what’s to come over the next few weeks. It’s time to Glow Up.
