Ivanka Trump Has Been Given An Official Government Title And People Aren’t Happy

Being president is a family affair.

Ivanka Trump is President Donald Trump’s eldest daughter, and she’s certainly getting some preferential treatment from her dad on the job front.

While she’s already one of her father’s closest advisers, she announced yesterday that she will now become an official federal employee.

The 35-year-old’s new title will be Special Assistant to the President, because there’s nothing more special than family, right?

Ethics experts have said that this new position could allow her to skirt certain rules, though Ivanka denies this.

In a statement she said, “I have heard the concerns some have with my advising the president…” and “I will instead serve as an unpaid employee in the White House Office, subject to all of the same rules as other federal employees.” So everything will be above board, it seems.

Working in the White House is certainly a family affair, as Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, is the president’s senior adviser.
