Jamie Oliver Just Used The Best Baking Metaphor To Announce The Birth Of His Baby

Jamie and Jools Oliver welcomed a fifth addition to their brood last night, and they were quick off the mark to announce the happy news on social media.

While we can never resist a swaddled-sleeping-baby photo, it was Jamie’s caption that really won us over.

The chef definitely put his signature style on the birth announcement, converting his new son’s birth weight into something a little more, er, baking-friendly.

And then this just happened guys !! IT’S A BABY BOY !! Everyone in the Oliver family is very surprised and beyond happy. He arrived safely, mum / @joolsoliver was really really amazing, unbelievably composed, natural birth and my two eldest Girls got to come in at the very end as the baby was born which was amazing to witness very very emotional. 8 lbs ( that’s 16 packs of butter for you bakers out there) anyway were all hitting the hay it’s been a long day big love… bless a little baby boy Woop Woop !!!! And love to all you mums out there how amazing you are it blows my mind …. Big love jamie o p.s no baby names yet …….

“Eight lbs (that’s 16 packs of butter for you bakers out there),” he wrote alongside the photo of his sleeping son, who has yet to be named. While we’ve never thought about babies in terms of packs of butter before, we do admire Jamie’s commitment to the foodie cause.

The dad of five said the birth was “very very emotional” and praised Jools for being so “amazing and composed” throughout, adding that the couple’s eldest daughters Daisy and Poppy had come in to cut the cord after their new brother was born.

Jools had her own praise to offer, calling Jamie her “hero” and saying the family were “so very happy, blessed, grateful and totally in love all over again.”
