Jay Z Has Finally Opened Up About *That* Elevator Incident With Solange Knowles

It’s been three years since the infamous elevator bust-up between Solange Knowles and Jay Z, and now the rapper has finally spoken out about what happened that night.

Just to re-jig your memory, CCTV footage showed Beyonce’s sister, Solange, beating the crap out of Jay Z in the lift after the 2014 MET Gala, while Bey stood silently and watched. It was that video that led people to believe he had cheated on his wife, and that Solange was simply protecting her sister.

Speaking on a podcast to Elliott Wilson and Brian ‘B.Dot’ Miller, the father-of-three revealed, “We had one disagreement ever. Before and after, we’ve been cool.”

“She’s like my sister,” he added, “I will protect her. That’s my sister, not my sister-in-law. My sister. Period.”

“We’ve always had a great relationship. I fought my brothers and argued with my brothers my whole life. It just so happens, who we are, these things go into a different space,” he said. “But it ain’t nothing.”
