Winds reached 155km/h and thousands were left without power.
Storm Eleanor caused widespread destruction across Ireland last night and this morning, with gale force winds reaching 155km/h. The high winds led to serious localised flooding in Galway and approximately 16,000 homes and businesses were left without power.

All joking aside though, heavy rain and wind are expected to continue throughout this evening and tonight, so take care when out and about. Roof tiles and tree branches may have loosened or weakened so stay inside where possible.
