Jedward are busy, busy boys.

The iconic pair have teased what they’re up to right now and what fans can expect from the next few months – including new music and a new podcast!

Speaking to VIP Magazine, they revealed that they are currently working on a new album.

“We’ll have a new album out this year. All by us, written by us,” the lads said, although they kept tight-lipped about when we could see it on shelves.

“We are working on songs and getting everything together. We’re really focused on that right now.”

But it looks like we could be getting a different side to Jedward as they tease that their new album is a bit more “singer-songwriter”.

“We have really high-energy pop songs. And our last album had 22 songs, that is too many songs. We might have 10 or 12 songs on our next one. But as of right now we have 20 songs ready to go. We have really intimate, stripped back songs that are really calm,” they explain.

They compared this album to Lewis Capaldi and Ed Sheeran’s work.

Of course, they’ll be heading on tour as well, inviting us to the “Jedward Jepic concert”.

“We’re going to announce tour dates,” they tease before joking about checking if Croke Park will be available.

They also said their TV return admitting they had been in talks for some TV shows that fell through.

“We are going to do more TV, so don’t stress. We were asked to do two shows but they both clashed,” Jedward promised.

One thing they’d love to return to is Eurovision. They’d “100 per cent” love to take to the stage in Sweden next year.

“We already have flights booked to Sweden and hotels put on hold. We’d love to do the trilogy,” they share.

“We’d love if it was done correctly and if we had a whole team behind us. We’re still writing songs, we’re still moving forward, so why not. We’d love to go back up there and give it our all.”

As if that wasn’t enough to juggle, Jedward have even teased that they are working on a podcast.

“We’re going to do a podcast to talk about what is happening in the world. We want to have deep meaningful conversations that people want to listen to. We are doing that this year,” they said.

They explained that they are constantly asked to come on people’s podcasts. But they realised that they would rather create their own so they could speak about the issues that they felt were important.

“There’s a lot more of us to be seen and heard of,” they said. “The podcast won’t be about us. It’ll be about other people’s problems and what is going on in the world that week.”

Before we say goodbye, we have to ask Jedward how to achieve Jepicness.

“I think it’s not changing for anyone. It’s about remaining yourself. You can put yourself under all these different types of pressure to keep up with the trends. We’ve been at this for 13 or 14 years and we’ve never lost ourselves,” they said.

“When you’re feeling your best you’re Jepic. Christmas morning or hanging out with your friends that is when you’re Jepic.”

Jedward was speaking to STELLAR as part of their new collaboration with Subway Ireland as they launch the revamped menu which allows customers to “Create Your Own” or choose from the Subway Series menu, featuring 15 chef-inspired creations.
