Jennifer Aniston Says Matthew Perry ‘Wasn’t Struggling’ The Day Of His Death

The actress revealed she spoke with him that day.

Jennifer Aniston has revealed that she spoke with Matthew Perry the day of his death.

The FRIENDS star spoke to Variety about the shock that came with her co-star’s passing, as that morning he had seemed to be well when they were texting one another.

“I was literally texting with him that morning, funny Matty…He was not in pain. He wasn’t struggling.”

Jennifer stressed that Matthew would have wanted to have been remembered that way, as someone who was doing good.

“He was healthy,” she told the publication. “He had quit smoking. He was getting in shape. He was happy — that’s all I know.”

The 54 year old went on to talk about how great Matthew was.

“He worked so hard,” she shared, adding, “He really was dealt a tough one.

“I miss him dearly. We all do. Boy, he made us laugh really hard.”

Following Matthew’s death in October, Jennifer and her FRIENDS co-stars took to Instagram to share their love for their late friend.

Jennifer wrote that she was glad Matthew was “completely at peace and out of any pain…Matty, I love you so much.”

David Schwimmer thanked Matthew “for ten incredible years of laughter and creativity.”

Lisa Kudrow also thanked her late friend, for “showing up at work when you weren’t well and then, being completely brilliant.”

Matt LeBlanc told his “brother” to “spread [his] wings and “fly.”

“The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life,” he wrote.

Courteney Cox echoed the sentiments of her co-stars, sharing an anecdote from their time on the show and writing that Matthew was “funny and he was kind.”
