Joe Wicks spoke about his personal life during an interview he noted as being “intense” on his social media platforms today.
In the interview conducted by Russell Brand for his show “Under The Skin”, Russell spoke to the successful fitness entrepreneur on what drove him to succeed in the wellness industry.
Speaking about his family life, Joe admitted that growing up was hard for him and he used fitness as an escape and a way to “manage his feelings”.
Talking about his father, Gary, Joe admitted that watching his dad struggle with a drug addiction all his life meant that he never had any interest in talking or experimenting with drugs while growing up in Surrey.
“We weren’t smoking weed, we were training, exercising and playing sport.
“Along the line, I decided that wasn’t going to be my destiny – that wasn’t going to be my path,” he told Russell.

Continuing, Joe revealed that he still speaks to his dad and doesn’t judge him for his past actions. However, the Lean In 15 creator admitted that he sadly will always be an addict.
“Now, when my dad’s going through a low period, I’m texting him and ringing him and asking how he is – I’m not judging him for being an addict. He’ll always be an addict – he relapses all the time.”
In recent days Joe is killing it on YouTube with his highly successful PE sessions. Giving kids and parents motivation to continue exercising at home.
In his recent interview, Joe also speaks about the ups and downs of being a father and raising two incredible kids with his wife Rosie Jones. Indie is Joe’s eldest child at one-year-old while his son Marley was born three months ago.
