Julie Andrews Shares An Update On Princess Diaries 3

The Queen has spoken...

After the iconic first two movies, fans have been waiting and wondering if there’d ever be a third instalment in the Princess Diaries franchise.

In 2019 fans of the films were delighted as Anne Hathaway confirmed there was a script for a third movie, and that she wanted to do it.

Since then, talk of the movie has been on the down low but Queen Clarisse Renaldi (aka Julie Andrews) has finally spoken on the matter, and you might want to brace yourself…

The musical legend told The Hollywood Reporter, “I think it would be too late to do it now…There was talk of a sequel many, many years ago. But I don’t think it ever came to pass.”

Julie also pointed out that the director of the first two films, Garry Marshall had since passed away, continuing, “especially [for] me, it’s too far down the line now to go back to it,” the 86-year-old said. “It’s a lovely thought, but I don’t think it would probably be possible.”

We can hear hearts breaking all around Genovia, and the world but the Queen has spoken. Although we won’t get to see the 86-year-old actress reprise this iconic role, she is still making waves in the industry playing the voice of Lady Whistledown in Bridgerton, the alter-ego of Nicola Coughlan’s character, and although we never seen Julie on camera, her voice does exactly what it needs to.

We would love to see a project where Julie and Nicola work together on camera…someone call Hollywood, we have an idea!
