Kate Beckinsale Is Also ‘Surprised’ That People Have Any Interest In Her Relationship With Pete Davidson

Come on now Kate.

Kate Beckinsale has spoken for the first time about her relationship with Pete Davidson, saying she’s ‘surprised’ by people’s interest in them as a couple.

Pete and Kate met at the Golden Globes, three months after the comedian split up with Ariana Grande, and confirmed their relationship by doing some extremely enthusiastic kissing at a hockey game a few weeks ago.

Kate’s echoing the statements of her beau, who said he didn’t get the ‘crazy fascination’ with the relationship during a recent episode of Saturday Night Live.

Come on now the pair of ye. There’s the age difference (he’s 25, she’s 45), the randomness of the pairing, the fact that he was previously engaged to an extremely high-profile pop star… Lots to the fascinated by there.

“I’m surprised by the interest,” she told the LA Times.

I’ve never been in this position before – never dated anybody who comes with their own bag of mischief. It’s all quite shocking, and something to get used to… I’d rather not have people hiding outside my house. It’s a little old-fashioned to have a woman’s personal life [looked at like that]. It’s a bit tired.

Despite this, the actress says that the unwanted attention is worth it, because she liiiiiikes him. Like, like likes him! He’s even met her family now, so you know it’s real.

“I think if you like the person less, you would bow out of it,” she mused. “If that were the main thrust of the relationship, there would be a problem. But it’s not.”

The interview dropped just days after Kate deleted every single one of her (gas) Instagram photos, apparently due to the non-stop comments about her and Pete’s relationship.

According to Page Six, the last straw came when actor David Spade quipped: “You like them young! (Now don’t fight back and roast me, just quietly stew and take the hit.)”

“Never gonna happen grandpa,” she retorted, and with that, her Instagram was gone. But she didn’t stay away for long – this morning, six days after the mass deletion, she was “back to business”:

Good. There aren’t many celebrities who can actually do Instagram right, and she’s one of them. We need her to stick around.
