Kim Kardashian is getting candid about the realities of motherhood when you’re separated from your partner.

The reality TV star opened up on a recent episode of The Kardashians about how her daughter, North West, seems to favour her dad.

In fact, North would prefer to stay with her father, Kanye West, than at home with Kim – despite Kim being more involved as a parent.

In the episode, Kim turns to her older sister Kourtney for support.

She explains that every time North is with Kanye, “She’ll be like, ‘Dad is the best’, he has it all figured out. He doesn’t have a nanny, he doesn’t have a chef, he doesn’t have security. He lives in an apartment,'” Kim explained.

“And she’ll start crying, ‘Why don’t you have an apartment? I can’t believe we don’t have an apartment.'”

Kourtney empathises with Kim, relating from her own experience with her kids and their dad, Scott Disick, who split with Kourtney years ago.

Scott and Kourtney share three children; Mason, who is 13, Penelope, who is 11, and Reign, who is 8.

Chiming in on Kim’s experience, Kourtney confesses, “They do that at Scott’s too.

“‘Dad has the best house, your house sucks. He has the best house. It’s not super big, the vibe’s better.'”

She went on to rationalise that it’s a common occurrence when it comes to co-parenting. “I feel like everything falls on the parent that’s more involved.”

Later in the episode, after spending some time with North, Kim reflects on her sister’s advice in a confessional.

“Kourtney always says that North is my lesson on this planet…I’m supposed to learn even more about patience – [North] teaches me patience. She has taught me a lot about life.”
