Kylie Minogue Tearfully Recalled Missing Glastonbury Due To Breast Cancer
She was forced to miss the festival in 2005, but returned this year.
Kylie Minogue carried out an emotional performance at Glastonbury this weekend, fourteen years after she was forced to skip it due to breast cancer.
The star took to the Pyramid Stage at the festival this year and recalled the heartache of having to miss it for treatment back in 2005.
“The story is, in 2005 I was meant to be here on this very stage,” she said tearfully.
“Circumstances meant that I did not make it. But I was watching for Australia and I wished so much I could be there, I wished things were different, but life is what it is.”
She also took to Instagram to share photos of the event and wrote: “Words cannot describe what today meant to me.”

Thank you SO MUCH! Words cannot describe what today meant to me. @glastofest
She was joined on stage by Chris Martin and later by Nick Cave.
Kylie recently opened up about how her cancer diagnosis changed her and how her plans to have kids were affected too.
“I was 36 when I had my diagnosis of breast cancer. Realistically, you’re getting to the late side of things,” she told The Sunday Times.
“While that wasn’t on my agenda at the time, it changed everything.”
“I don’t want to dwell on it, obviously, but I wonder what that would have been like. Everyone will say there are options, but I don’t know.
“I’m 50 now, and I’m more at ease with my life.”
“I can’t say there are no regrets, but it would be very hard for me to move on if I classed that as a regret, so I just have to be as philosophical about it as I can. You’ve got to accept where you are and get on with it.”
