Love Island’s Curtis Pritchard Has Opened Up About His Split With Maura Higgins

When Maura and Curtis got together on Love Island, it was a twist we never saw coming. And to be honest, we’ll never forget that preview that showed Maura talking about how manly Curtis is.

In fairness, as surprised as we all were, they stayed together for a while after the show, before announcing that they were each going their separate ways in March. Now, Curtis has opened up about the split, saying he was gutted the news went public so quickly.

The pair, who made it to the final in 2019, announced their news at the beginning of March, with Maura writing on her Instagram Stories, “Curtis and I have made the decision to separate.

“We enjoyed a great experience from our time in the villa and want to thank everyone for supporting our relationship.” Maura continued, “there is no easy way to get through a breakup and no bad feeling on either side. We tried to make it work but it wasn’t to be and I wish Curtis nothing but the best for the future.”

Now, Curtis has opened up about the break up from his perspective, “It hurt. I wasn’t ready for everyone to know we had split up — I wanted some time,” he told The Sun. “It was a shock to see that she had announced it on social media hours later.”

Speaking about dating again, Curtis said he won’t be dating until the pandemic is over, at least. “I’m very old-fashioned,” he explained. “I don’t actually like talking to people over a mobile phone or laptop. I’m a very sociable person. I like to be with somebody and talk to them.”

Well, fair enough Curtis, that makes sense.
