Mariah Carey Was Told About The Las Vegas Shooting For The First Time Live On Air

Mariah was being interviewed for Good Morning Britain when Piers Morgan broke the news.

Piers Morgan has been slammed for changing his line of questioning during an interview segment with Mariah Carey. The singer appeared on this morning’s Good Morning Britain, shortly after the Las Vegas shooting, which at the time of publishing has claimed 50 lives.

Appearing via video link to talk about her Christmas tour, Mariah was quickly informed of the events that had just taken place in Vegas where she recently wrapped a residency at Caesar’s Palace.

“This is horrible. I pray for the victims,” a stunned Mariah answered when asked for her instant reaction to the tragedy.

She added: “I pray for the victims. I hope all this can stop. This type of thing happening anyway is a huge tragedy. I hope we have an end to this as soon as possible.”

Since the interview aired, fans have taken to Twitter to slam Piers for blindsiding Mariah with the news.

Mariah later took to Twitter to offer her condolences, writing “Horrified to hear about the shooting in #LasVegas. My thoughts are with the victims and their families. Praying for everyone’s safety.”

As it stands, 50 people have lost their lives in the tragedy and more than 200 are injured, making this the deadliest mass shooting in America’s history.
