Matt Lucas Has Been Announced As The New Host Of The Great British Bake Off
We'll still miss ya Sandi!
News broke earlier this year that the beloved co-host of everyone’s favourite show, The Great British Bake Off, Sandi Toksvig has stepped down from her position on the show.
Since then, we have been drying our tears, and waiting in anticipation for the new co-host of the show to be announced – and today’s finally the day.
Little Britain star and comedian Matt Lucas will take Sandi’s place, hosting alongside Noel Fielding for the next season of the show.

Channel 4 announced the news on Twitter earlier today, sharing a v gas video of both Noel and Matt together.. and if the craic in the video is anything to go by, we’re in for a real treat come later this year.
Addressing the news on social media, Matt himself shared a picture of himself holding a plate of iced buns, titling it: ‘mood’, and same tbh.

Speaking to Sky News, Matt said:
“I’m chuffed to bits to be joining the most delicious show on television,”
“I can’t wait to break bread with Noel, Prue, and Paul and meet the brilliant bakers. And bearing in mind my love of cake, I’ve already ordered some much larger trousers in anticipation. See you in the tent!”
Last night saw the first episode of the show’s ‘Stand Up To Cancer’ series special, where Sandi is still hosting alongside Noel.
