Maura Higgins Is Officially Joining The Cast Of This Year’s Dancing On Ice

After weeks of speculation, our gal Maura Higgins has confirmed that she will be donning her skates for the 2020 series of Dancing On Ice.

The ITV show teased the Love Island star’s involvement last week, posting a pair of very distinctive glossy lips:

Announcing the news on Instagram, Maura said: “Cat’s out of the bag! I’m joining the cast of this year’s Dancing On Ice and wow… I just cannot contain my excitement.”

In an appearance on This Morning earlier today, she told Dancing On Ice hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that she’s “up for the challenge”:

I am more excited than scared – I’m brave and competitive and that will drive me.

“I need someone strict,” the Longford lady said of her potential partner, adding that she’s only skated “once in my life for fun, so I’ve no experience at all.”

Maura will join veteran television presenter Michael Barrymore on the lineup – so far, they’re the only two celebrities confirmed to be taking to the ice.

From the hints posted on the official Dancing On Ice account, people are guessing that Joe Swash and H from Steps could also be contestants:

No start date has been confirmed yet, but the show usually airs in January. Will you be watching?
