Maura Higgins Reveals Her Role In Molly-Mae Hague And Tommy Fury’s Engagement

Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury were brought together through Love Island, but they didn’t just find each other in the villa, as they also left with a best friend, Maura Higgins.

And the trio are still incredibly close, with Maura even playing a part in their recent engagement.

“We all knew he was gonna do it soon,” she explained on the Chicks in the Office podcast. But being a good pal, Maura made sure the engagement happened ASAP.

Revealing how she encouraged Tommy to pop the question.

“I mean it was only like a few weeks ago when I was on the phone to them and I was like ‘Tommy – you need to propose, where’s this ring?’ and I was just like ranting down the phone,’ the Longford lady confessed.

And Tommy did an amazing job, as not only did Molly-Mae say yes, but Maura also approved of his proposal setup.

“And now it’s happened, and honestly he smashed it out of the park like it looked just so incredible.”

Sharing her joy at seeing her friends reach that all important milestone, she gushed: “She just looked so happy. I’m so happy for them, honestly they are a match made in heaven. She’s literally the female version of him and vice versa. They are like the same person.”

Maura even joked about her previous connection with Tommy.

Upon entering the villa in 2019, Maura set her sights on the boxing champ, but the two didn’t hit it off.

Admitting she doesn’t see him in a romantic light at all, and dislikes being asked about their connection. “I look at Tommy like a brother, and he looks at me like a sister. You just can’t even think about it, even when you see a comment and it’s like – *shudders*.”

“It’s like a brother-sister relationship now. Yeah, I’m just so incredibly happy for them. I can’t f**king wait for the big day,” she said.

Gushing: “Honestly it will be the most perfect, beautiful wedding of all time and I just can’t wait.”
