Maya Jama Reveals If She Will Be Returning As The Host Of Love Island Next Season

Will Maya be back on our screens?

Love Island is nearly finished for this season, and were already thinking ahead, for when a new set of islanders take to the Mallorca villa this summer.

Needless to say we can’t wait! But there is one question on everyone’s mind, will Maya Jama be returning as host?

Maya made her host debut for this year’s Winter Love Island, taking over from Laura Whitmore, and quickly stole fans’ hearts.

But was her stint on the show just a one time thing? Well the TV presenter stopped by The Jonathan Ross Show and opened up about her future on the series.

So, will we be seeing anymore slo-mo walks into the villa from Maya? YES WE WILL!

The 28-year-old revealed she has already signed on for the summer season.

Saying: “I’m going to be doing the summer one,” before joking: “It starts in… summer.”

We’re obviously thrilled to have Maya back, as she’s such a natural on Love Island. But while it might appear as though hosting the hit series comes naturally to Maya, she shared just how stressful the job can be.

“I was so nervous. Obviously it’s a very big show, everyone watches it, everyone’s got an opinion.”

“Quite a lot of people online were like, ‘We want Maya to host’. So it felt a bit like, I don’t want to let anyone down,” she admitted.

Continuing: “I don’t want it to be like, ‘You guys wanted me to do it and now I’m s**t’. So I felt that pressure, and to get the slow-motion walk right…”

Well most fans agree, she’s killing it!

Maya was also asked about which couple she thinks will take home first place. But ever the professional host, Maya kept her answer diplomatic.

“I’ve got to be really neutral don’t I? I’m not allowed to have favourites.”

“I really like Shaq [Muhammad] just because he’s a hopeless romantic and he’s very cute and so in love. But then I also like Tom [Clare] and Samie [Elishi], they’re really fun and Tom’s gone on a journey.”

Maya also gave farmer Will Young a shoutout, saying: “He’s the fun one, he’s the silly one.”

Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.
