Megan Barton Hanson Has Slid Into This Fellow Love Islander’s DMs

"I slid into her DMs and got nothing."

It’s not long now until we’ll be sacrificing an hour at 9pm, six nights a week, to sink into the latest Love Island drama. Let me tell you, I am READY. But of course, with the new season coming up, it’s always great to get a bit of goss from the past islanders and having a deep dive into what they’re up to, from new relationships to their latest spon con.

One thing that I’ll always be interested in is when previous contestants get together with other contestants, whether they appeared in the same season or not. Which brings us nicely to who Megan Barton Hanson of season four has a bit of a thing for.

Chatting with another ex-islander, Jack Fincham, on Heatworld, Megan was asked which previous Love Islander she’d couple up with. Any guesses?

Well, it’s none other than our very own Maura Higgins.

“I think she’s stunning, I think she’s a powerful, strong woman. But I don’t know if she’s bi… but hopefully one day,” Megan laughed.

“I’ll put a word in,” Jack joked. And she replied, “Yeah, please do. Do you know her?”

He then looked away and pretty unconvincingly responded, “Yeah…”

Megan then revealed that she had even messaged Maura previously, “I slid into her DMs and got nothing.”

When Jack asked what she wrote, Megan replied:

“I don’t know. Maybe I just sent an emoji, just dipping the toe in. Got absolutely aired!”

Speaking of Love Island, fans are not happy after the network’s commissioner Amanda Stavri spoke to the Radio Times about how the next season of Love Island looks set to disappoint us in terms of its representation on screen.

With hopes of seeing a more diverse cast on screen for the first time since the show started airing in 2005, it looks like those hopes are now being quashed as Amanda said there are ‘logistical difficulties’ with having LGBT representation on the show due to its format. Get the full details here.
