Michael Jackson’s Nephew to Take Lead Role in New Biopic

Lionsgate studio announced on Monday that Jaafar Jackson will be taking the lead role of the upcoming Michael Jackson Biopic entitled ‘Michael’.

Jackson’s 26-year-old nephew will portray ‘The King of Pop’ throughout the biographical film that explores the complicated man he was prior to earning the ‘King of Pop’  title across the world.

The film set to begin production this year will focus on every part of his life. Lionsgate stated it will include: “his most noteworthy performances that set him on the path to becoming an icon in the music world”.

It will be directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King. Both noted Jaafar’s innate ability to encompass his uncle and bring him back to life in the best way possible.

Graham King spoke on the subject saying: “It was clear that he is the only person to take on this role”, continuing to say he: “can’t wait for the world to see him on the big screen as Michael Jackson”.

The late King of Pop’s mother Katherine stated: “Jaafar embodies my son. It’s so wonderful to see him carrying on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers”.

This will be Jaafar’s first major film role, he is the second youngest son of singer-songwriter, Jermaine Jackson. The youngest Jackson grandchild stated in a Twitter post that he is: “humbled and honoured to bring my uncle Michael’s story to life. To all the fans all over the world, I’ll see you soon.
