Michael Owen Says Gemma Has A ‘Game Face’ Before A Big Competition

If you’ve been watching this season of Love Island, you know that Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma is one of the most talked about contestants of the season, and you’ll also know she seems pretty serious on the show.

Gemma rarely has a goofey side on show bar the rare times when Luca makes her crack a smile and a giggle, but her dad has revealed that she often has a game face before a big competition, this could explain why she seems reserved.

“Match day or if it’s a big competition, going into that ring, she turns into a horror. It’s like that’s it – you get your game face on and you can’t control it,” he explained.

“I didn’t want anyone talking to me on match day. In fact, or the day before. Just stay out of my way and let me do my business.

“She’s the same, she’s horrible. Stay out of her way when a big competition’s coming round. That’s how much it means to you. Start focusing on the job in hand,” he said.

Gemma is currently seeing Luca Bish inside the villa and is in a friendship couple with Davide. Viewers have been watching Luca fall hard for Gemma, so hard that she had to tell him to calm down a little!

Fans of the show have also been waiting for an announcement of who Gemma Owen’s father is, but there has yet to be any mention of the football star.

The first dumpee of the series Afia Tonkmor shared whether the contestants are aware of her famous father in an Instagram Q&A saying, “If people do know, I did know before I went in because I watched her vt, so if people do know, they don’t care. Nobody really cares.”

“I don’t know who he is, I know he’s a football guy but it was never ever spoken about in my presence,” she said.

Hopefully we do get a big reveal at some stage, we’d love to see the sport lovers reaction to the news!
