We talk shopping, style and staying positive with blogger Amy Mulvaney.
Name: Amy Mulvaney
Traffic: 3,500 unique vistors a month.
What’s in your essential blogging kit?
My Canon EOS 1200d camera. It’s taken the quality of my photos to another level. That and my Macbook Air.
And in your make-up bag?
Concealer! I use MAC Studio Finish Concealer for redness, and Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer for dark circles.
What’s your must-have hair product?
The InStyler has totally revolutionised my hair since I got it at Christmas. Curly, wavy, straight – the world’s your oyster!
Have you got a favourite make-up look?
Bronzed, glowy skin with a neutral eye and a nude lip. MAC Sheen Supreme lipstick in Bare Again is my favourite nude, and the original Urban Decay Naked palette has everything you need for eyes. For skin, it’s NARS Sheer Glow foundation.
Who are your favourite make up brands?
MAC, Charlotte Tilbury and NARS. I love Maybelline for mascaras, Max Factor for their blushes and Soap and Glory for their brow products.
What’s your favourite scent?
Chloe Eau de Parfum is my signature scent. I love Thierry Mugler Alien for a special occasion – it makes more of a statement.
Okay, we’re gonna be nosey; what’s in your bag?
My Marc Jacobs purse, my headphones, phone, charger, four pens, a notebook, hand sanitiser, perfume, concealer, sunglasses, painkillers and a pair of cosy socks.
How would you describe your signature style?
Casual chic. It’s all about being comfortable. I love layering Alex and Ani bracelets, midi rings and a long Mi Modena necklace to add something extra to a simple outfit.
Got a fail-safe outfit?
Ripped Topshop Leigh jeans, striped tee, brown Chelsea boots and a structured coat.
How long does it take you to get ready for a night out?
I love taking my time, it can take up to two hours (if not more!)
What make-up item do you think every woman should own?
Every woman should have something that makes her feel special. For me, it’s anything from Charlotte Tilbury.
Tell us, what are your fave online shopping sites?
What about on the high street?
Penneys, Boots, Topshop, Zara, and Forever21.
What’s your next big buy?
The Michael Kors Jet Set Tote Bag in grey.
Trend to watch?
It’s all about the ’70s trend. I’ll be wearing denim dresses, floppy hats, fringed bags and paisley print shorts.
Who’s your blogging inspiration?
Melanie Murphy. She has an amazing YouTube channel about health, beauty, and happiness. To see someone so close to home achieve so many incredible things, is such an inspiration.
What are your top tips for well-being?
- Don’t compare yourself to other people.
- Always remember, this too shall pass.
- Try to see the positives in everything.
- Don’t be so hard on yourself.
- Never forget how strong you are.
How do you stay so positive?
When my mum passed away, I really had to learn to be positive and strong. It wasn’t easy, but four years later here I am writing a blog about positivity. Every single day you wake up with the choice to be happy or to be sad. Being happy isn’t always the easiest option, but it’s the best one.
