New Music?! Taylor Swift’s Tweet Just Now Has Sent Fans Into A Frenzy
Looks like her hiatus is drawing to a close.
Yes, Taylor Swift has been all over our newsfeeds in recent months thanks to her messy break-up with Calvin Harris, her beef with Kimye and her short-lived romance with Tom Hiddleston. On the new music front though, the singer has remained uncharacteristically quiet.
After finishing up her 1989 World Tour back in February, Taylor confirmed she’d be taking an extended hiatus from music, and since then has been focusing on travel, family and quality time with friends.
However a tweet from the singer today has sent the T-Swift fandom into a whirlwind, as it seems to point to an emergence from musical hibernation. Just now, Taylor tweeted an image of the Circuit Of The Americas in Austin, Texas, with the caption, “See you here, October 22!”
A quick trawl on social media reveals that Tay will perform a one-off gig at the motor racing arena following the Formula One US Grand Prix later this month. Press for the event says the star will perform “a collection of her greatest hits from the last decade” – but surely it’d be the perfect time to release some new music too?
The date is almost exactly two years to the day since Taylor’s 1989 album release, after all, and with many fans saying Taylor might favour a Beyoncé-style surprise release this time around, dropping a new song in the middle of a massive concert doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch.
Just last week, US telecommunications giant AT&T confirmed a Taylor Swift concert in a *specifically built* arena the night before February’s Super Bowl Game. Sounds like Ms. Swift is ready to get back into the limelight.
