Nicki Minaj Drops First Trailer For New Six-Part Docu-Series

At this stage, it’s almost a right of passage for a celebrity to make a documentary about their life, and for Nicki Minaj, that’s exactly what she’s doing!

The rap superstar took to Instagram the other day, where she teased to fans a six-part documentary series about her come-up in the rap game.

Sharing a trailer to her socials, the series follows Nicki as a young unknown rapper, hustling for success and respect as the lone female MC in the mainstream, self-medicating to get through the tough times, and ultimately growing up and loving herself.

Produced by the Canadian company Bron Studios and titled “Nicki”, the songwriter reflected on what she plans on sharing with the world saying, “some things are so personal, it’s scary. It’s like NOTHING you’ve seen before & I need it to be handled with care.”

The two-minute trailer for the series includes multiple clips of gigs and shows, while the rapper explains that “you don’t get a manual on how to be a famous rapper, you just learn it as you go” as well as revealing that she “never wanted to be mainstream” but that mainstream came to her.

Keeping herself busy, the rapstress has also teased that her highly anticipated new album will be dropping at some point this year, where she confirmed back in February that “Mixtape Nicki” will be returning and that fans can channel their “inner bad b**ch.”

While in March, Nicki also revealed that she had spoken to Drake about executive producing her upcoming album in a Twitter Q&A. So with a possible new album and docu-series to come this year, it’s safe to say this really is the year of Ms Nicki Minaj!

And although we don’t have a release date just yet for the tell-all series, the rapper has shared that it will be “Coming out SOONER THAN YOU THINK.”

We certainly can’t wait!
