While there has been many of us who sought after the lives of celebs, or more accurately, daydreaming of what it would be like to have anything resembling their bank accounts, it’s obvious being rich and famous comes with some downfalls too.

Nicole Kidman has opened up about exactly this, revealing the impact that some of her acting roles has had on both her mental and physical health. Speaking on Marc Maron’s podcast, WTF With Marc Maron, Nicole shared how intense scenes from Big Little Lies and The Undoing, in particular, affected her long after the camera stopped rolling.

She explained that in roles such as these, she “becomes” the character. “Even on The Undoing it kind of happened where I just like suddenly was in this place of… There was sort of a disquietness to my personality,” she shared, “where I was uneasy and there was duress on who I was.”

Nicole then shared that while filming The Undoing, in which her character is involved in her husband’s high profile murder case, she became quite sick. “I went down for a week, because your immune system it doesn’t know the difference between acting and truth when you’re doing them.”

Nicole then continued to say that she thinks this is “a big thing that happens to actors,” and while others are able to train their bodies into knowing that they’re acting, she said “It doesn’t really work for me.”

More often than not, Nicole revealed, she leaves a set feeling “not well” and isn’t able to “sleep well,” adding, “It’s that disturbing for me.”
