No, Married At First Sight Australia Is Not Fake Says Contestant Lizzie

We're #teamLizzie with this one

With little else to do at the moment but indulge in some bad (but actually really good) TV, that’s exactly what the vast majority of us have been doing. With us feeling hard done by having missed out on a year of Love Island, Married At First Sight Australia is out here doing God’s work right now, filling the reality dating gap quite nicely.

If you’re unfamiliar with the show’s format, essentially it sees a number of singletons set up by dating and relationship experts, but with a twist. The twist being, they first meet at the altar on their wedding day. It’s like first dates on speed as the show follows the newlyweds as they navigate their first few months of married life together.

If you have been keeping up with the sixth season of MAFS AUS, you’ll be aware of the Sam/Ines drama. Of course, while some couples are very happily married, others are not so in wedded bliss, which means that there are inevitably some wandering eyes. The series’ villain, Sam, was originally partnered up with Lizzie, while Ines was paired with Brosnan. Both Sam and Ines are unhappy in their couples, and so have been secretly hooking up behind their respective partner’s back.

Watching the situation unfold on TV is so shocking, that fans are now wondering if the show is fake, with certain scenes set up for entertainment purposes. Getting wind of this theory, MAFS Sam of course took to his social media to clear his dirtied name, saying that yes, he was encouraged by producers to be a ‘bad boy’.

“(The producers) pulled me into a dark room, a black room, and asked me to do the Ines thing. They set that up. They made Ines DM me on the phone, that was all staged,” Sam said on his Instagram stories.

“I throw her on the bed on that date night, not even five seconds later, the producers come in and de-mic you. I didn’t sleep with Ines that night, that didn’t happen. I didn’t sleep with anyone on the show,” he continued.

However, Sam’s original partner, Lizzie got wind of his accusations and told MailOnline that his claims of the affair being set up for entertainment are entirely untrue.

“Bullsh*t. Own your sh*t and don’t go in the media and say I gave you PTSD,” she began.

“Also there’s footage of how you thought it was funny to torment me and then say I was lovely. Liar from the get go. Lied throughout filming. Lied after filming. Keep ya story straight. Also, newsflash I wasn’t aware of the hooking up behind my back,”

Getting in one last jab, Lizzie added: “You also declaring I was crazy, or delusional #gaslighter. That’s what I think.”

Yikes.

Can’t wait for the reunion show is all we’ll say.
