No Surprises There! Beauty And The Beast Smashes Irish Box Office Record!

The film made over €2.2 million in its opening weekend alone.

We’re still swooning over Disney’s Beauty And The Beast live-action remake after catching it at the cinema over the weekend… There’s just SO. MANY. FEELS.

The rest of the Irish population must be feeling the same way, as the film made over €2.2 million in its opening weekend alone.

This enormous cash take-in makes Beauty And The Beast the highest earning three-day opening weekend in Irish box office history, despite us all being busy with Paddy’s Day celebrations.

Starring Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast, the film tells the romantic tale (as old as time) of two lonely souls who fall in love over their love of reading. N’awww!

With an all-star cast, including Ewan McGregor as Lumière, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, and Stanley Tucci as Cadenza, it’s no surprise that this remake is proving so popular… dare we say it’s better than the animated version?

And with new music (which is definitely on par with the original tunes) we’re all planning a return visit to the cinema for a second viewing.
