Okay, So Courteney Cox And Matthew Perry Are Related
Distantly though, so it's all good
After last night’s Friends Reunion show, plenty of stories about the cast are creeping out of the woodwork.
The series special shockingly revealed that Rachel and Ross’ actors, Jennifer and David not only liked each other in the series but were also crushing on one another in real life too. During the show David said:
“The first season, I had a major crush on Jen” to which Jennifer said the feelings were ‘reciprocated’.
Explaining why they never actually got together IRL, David said: “At some point we were both crushing hard on each other, but it was like two ships passing because one of us was always in a relationship.”
However, Jen and David’s mutual love aside, more news has emerged over the last 24 hours, involving the other show’s leading couple – Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry.
Tyla.com has uncovered a recent genealogy report, uncovering that the two are in fact cousins. How exactly? Well, allow us to explain.
The two apparently share an English couple named William Osbern Haskell III and Ellen Haskell in their family tree. William and Ellen got married around 500 years ago, with Ellen emigrating to America with her two sons Roger and William in the 1600s. This makes Courteney and Matthew 11th cousins.
“We went into this line very deeply, we checked every name. We found a lot of records that support it, and we have confidence that they are related” Roi Mandel, the head of research at MyHeritage told CNN.
Throughout the 10 years of Friends, audiences across the globe saw the characters of Monica and Chandler grow closer, eventually marrying in season 7. In the final episode, we saw the two finally become parents and move out of New York City together to begin their next chapter as a family.
