As Love Island 2022 continues into its final weeks, it’s safe to say this season has given its fair share of head-turning moments!
But even with all the drama playing out on screen, it’s hard not to wonder what’s going on behind the scenes.
Well, your prayers have been answered because third series star Olivia Attwood is the latest former contestant to dish the dirt on the inner workings of the iconic ITV show, while appearing as a guest on the Call Her Daddy Podcast.

Describing the show on the pod, Olivia explained to listeners who might not be familiar, how contestants enter the villa in search of love and, seemingly, a crack at the €50,000 prize. However, in a somewhat surprising admission, Olivia revealed that the contestants aren’t really that concerned with the money! “When you’re in there, nobody really gives a s**t about the money,” the former contestant said. Adding, “you don’t even need the money in the end… nobody focuses on it.”

Speaking on the podcast hosted by Alex Cooper, Attwood also discussed the infamous alcohol rationing that takes place on the show. Olivia explained the somewhat logical reason behind the rule.
“They don’t want people doing stuff driven by alcohol and the next day waking up and being like ‘oh I don’t actually like him I only snogged him cause I was drunk,” she explained. Olivia also confessed that she didn’t shy away from questioning the decisions of the producers, saying that she was even threatened with a written warning if she didn’t stop arguing with them!
“I questioned them every day to the point where they were like if you ask about it again you’re going to get a written warning” the former model admitted. Olivia’s comments about clashing with producers come only days after she criticised them for only showing her “interesting bits and arguments” in an interview with OK!. Well, whatever happened behind the scenes we know for sure that Love Island’s third season definitely wouldn’t have been the same without you, Olivia!
