Oops! Prue Leith Accidentally Revealed The Winner Of GBBO And Twitter Isn’t Happy
"You wouldn't see Mary Berry spoiling a final. Just sayin'..."
It’s been under wraps for months, but mere hours before the final of Great British Bake Off, judge Prue Leith let the winner’s name slip on Twitter. (Don’t worry, we won’t spoil it for you.)
Viewers of the Channel 4 show are devastated by the gaffe, which Prue is admittedly “mortified” over. She made the reveal in a now-deleted tweet, and has since gone on to apologise for it. “I am so sorry to the fans of the show for my mistake this morning, I am in a different time zone and mortified by my error,” she said. “I’m in Bhutan. The time difference is massive. I thought that they got it six hours ago. I’m in too much of a state to talk about it. I f*cked up.”
As you can imagine, the reaction on Twitter has been less than pleasant. Many people are making reference to the show’s former judge, Mary Berry, saying, “Mary wouldn’t have done that.”
I can't believe Prue tweeted who the winner of #GBBO is!! That's why it should have stayed a BBC show, Mary Berry never would've done that??
