Pink Shows Her Support For Britney With Lyric Change At A Recent Concert

“Tired of being compared to sweet Britney Spears.”

Pink showed her support for Britney Spears the same day her husband Sam Asghari filed for divorce.

At her concert in Detroit on Wednesday the Raise Your Glass singer switched up a lyric in her song Don’t Let Me Get Me, which name drops Britney in the second verse.

In the original version of the song, Pink sings about having to change herself to make it in the music biz: “L.A. told me, ‘You’ll be a pop star / All you have to change is everything you are,’/ Tired of being compared to damn Britney Spears.”

She took a kinder approach to the verse this week when she chose to swap out the word “damn” for “sweet”. The lyric change didn’t go unnoticed by fans who cheered loudly upon hearing it.

Sam Asghari filed for divorce from his wife Britney Spears after a marriage of 14 months but a relationship of over five years prior to that.

Sam shared a statement to Instagram following the news, writing: “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together. We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always.”

The pair tied the knot back in June 2022 after five years of dating in a stunning Californian affair attended by any famous faces including Selena Gomez, Paris Hilton, Madonna and Drew Barrymore.
