Princess Beatrice And Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi Married Secretly At Windsor Yesterday

Like many couples, the pair had to cancel their wedding due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

If there’s one thing the media love, it’s a wedding. And even better than that? A royal wedding.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi were due to be married this summer in an elaborate ceremony. The Princess is ninth in line to the throne, as the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

Like Will and Kate, and Meghan and Harry their wedding would have been a major televised event that thousands would have tuned in for. The 31 year old got engaged in September 2019 and the couple were due to get married in May of this year.

Like many couples, the pair had to cancel their wedding due to the Covid-19 pandemic and social distancing guidelines, so the big ceremony in St Jame’s Place had to be scrapped.

Instead the couple married secretly yesterday in Windsor, making the decision not to reschedule the big, extravagant wedding they had planned but to do something far more simple and pared back.

The Palace released a statement yesterday confirming the news that the wedding had taken place with just 20 guests including Prince Andrew, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen.

“The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11am on Friday 17th July at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor.”

Although a royal wedding certainly would have cheered us up and made for some lockdown viewing, we kinda love they just decided to do it in a more low-key way!
