Priyanka Chopra On Her New Show & Why She’d Love To Shoot In Ireland
We caught up with the A-lister this week.
Ireland has become one of the hottest places to film a movie or TV show. From Game of Thrones to Star Wars, Ireland really is the place to be for filmmakers.
So when STELLAR caught up with Priyanka Chopra she enthused about how much she loves the Emerald Isle. And well, we have to agree.
“I would go film there any day,” she tells us as we chat over Zoom.
Priyanka is starring in Prime Video’s latest thriller series, Citadel. It made headlines as it is the second most expensive series of all time with a budget of $300 million (€271 million).
The show follows a group of international spies and features not just an English language series but Indian and Italian spin-offs.
“We went to many, many places around the world to shoot Citadel. We went to places like Spain and the UK,” Priyanka tells us.
“The show is truly global, we have actors and filmmakers from around the world making it. It helped us make a show in Italy and in India and hopefully many other territories around the world.”

So, when we chatted to Priyanka we had to ask if she could see Ireland on the list. It was an enthusiastic yes as she practically cheered in delight.
“I would go film there any day. There are definitely spies in Ireland!” she adds.
Director Joe Russo, who is one half of the minds behind films like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: End Game, is also a lover of Ireland.
In fact, he tells us: “There is nothing I love more than Ireland.”
“You just gave us a brilliant idea!” he jokes about the possibility of Citadel coming to Ireland.
With the first season heading to hit our screens, we asked what Priyanka and Joe are most excited for the audience to see after spending years working on the series.
“Richard [Madden] and Priyanka’s performances. It is a really interesting and compelling character study. It’s filled with twists and turned. I’m excited to see the audience try to figure it out,” Joe explains.
While Priyanka tells us: “And the writers keep you guessing. Do you know where we’re going next? As soon as the episode finishes you’re like ‘Ah!’ I love shows like that and this one does that. I need the next episode now…”
Alongside Priyanka, the series stars Bodyguard actor Richard Madden and the one and only, Stanley Tucci.
Citadel premieres on April 28th on Prime Video
