Reese Witherspoon Shares Heartbreak At The Death Of Her Publicist, Nanci Ryder

Earlier this weekend Reese Witherspoon shared her heartbreak at the death of her close friend and publicist, Nanci Ryder.

Taking to Instagram the star shared a touching tribute to a woman who clearly meant so much to her.”Sometimes in life, if you are lucky, you meet someone who takes you under their wing and cares for you like a daughter.”

“Nanci Ryder was that other mother to me. I met her when I was 19, and we traveled the world together promoting movies…France, Germany, UK, Australia, Brazil, Russia…so many amazing places!”

Nanci was 67 and suffered with ALS, otherwise know as motor neurone disease, which is a very debilitating condition to live with. Reese revealed that Nanci had been battling the condition for six years and first told her she had it when she shared that she was having trouble talking.

“Nanci lived with and fought ALS for 6 years. My heart goes to everyone out there dealing with this devastating disease.”

In particular what Reese had to share about Nanci was mostly not work related, instead she was mourning a friend and a mother figure who was clearly a big part of her life; “Everyday after my kids went to school, she would call me to chat about shopping, purses, vintage jewelry, and about the Bachelor.”

Not only did she work with Reese but Nanci also had many other well known clients including Robert Downey Jr, Sarah Jessica Parker, Courtney Cox and Sarah Michelle Gellar.
